Here We Go! (Again?)

2012 is here.  We made it!

Does it feel like New Year’s Day keeps coming faster and faster each year?

What is changing?

Are you?

Every year I can’t help but think of the people I know that had big plans, huge hopes, and daring dreams for the last year. I’m always pulling for my fellow warriors, so I hate when it’s all talk, no action.

Warriors go to war, they don’t just talk about it.

I’ll never understand how some folks act like there’s an unlimited supply of days like today. Fresh starts. New years.

Here we go…again?

The problem is we only have so many new years before we run out.  This is a sobering thought for sure, but true nevertheless. What would you do if this was your last New Year’s Day?

Would you still keep dreaming or would you start doing?

If you need a calendar to push yourself, take it. But please don’t keep putting off what matters.

You might push it right out of reach.

Have a great year,

  1. Wow, you have me thinking of 80s music this morning, Aaron. The first one was Springsteen’s Glory Days. Now the first phrase that jumps out at me is “here we go again” -> which prompts me to think “here I go again” by Whitesnake ;)

No procrastination in 2012! Let’s get busy and make a difference both personally and professionally.

  2. I look at change as an opportunity to embark upon an adventure. I mean what adventure doesn’t involve change? The Best Adventure any of us could hope for is the journey inward, where we find the best of who we are – and aren’t – and decide whether changes are necessary for us to be who we want to be. But changes are not possible until we know who we are and what we believe – so let’s start!

  3. I’m fighting the good fight every day, Aaron…and I love it. I wake up eager to “hit” the keys and do my part. Happy New Year to you, Aaron and may you hit the right keys as well!

  4. I agree wholeheartedly with you Aaron. Take each day seriously, each hour, each minute, each second, each moment of mundane minutia is vastly important.

    Move. Do something about it.

I saw a quote today on G+ that really struck a chord with me. It went something like this: “Make goals so big in 2012 that you need God to help you or you’ll be a miserable failure.” [paraphrase]

It’s true. While me must set achievable goals, who says we shouldn’t set goals that are only achievable with the help of others — namely the most important Other in life?

Move this year — into something beautiful and good. Life.
