Obama voters. Romney voters. Democrats. Republicans.
When do we simply become just “Americans” again?
In a world where politics is always in perpetual campaign mode, I think it’s time to get back to business.
- We have a major debt problem.
- We have government gridlock.
- We have sharp divides.
This is where leaders come in. Not just in the White House, but in your house. My house.
Our government is a reflection of our society. Yes, it’s divided. However, we have only ourselves to blame.
The acidic things I’ve seen written on social media channels about Obama and Romney are outrageous. When did we lose our civility?
We’re not hurting the candidates. We’re hurting ourselves.
Let’s seek healing and unity tonight,
Aaron @Biebert

That’s what I’m thinking about today after the election.
The one thing that we should all be assessing today is our understanding of America and how we each believe problems are ultimately solved. Whether they be financial or relationship problems, there are principles that unite and give hope and direction.
Maybe it’s time to review with our families or all by ourselves the words and personal convictions of our country’s Founding Fathers so that we can inspire our children with their insights.
That’s what I’ll be doing.
And I will bite my tongue wen I feel the inclination to criticize. I don’t want my children to learn hate or disrespect from me.
They will hopefully learn to bypass negativity, see through smoke and mirrors, and work with truth as their guide, never succumbing to fears that there is no hope.
I will teach them in whom to place their trust.
Thanks, Aaron.
A very timely post.
Betsy, I like your approach. Sounds like a smart way to start by leading in our own homes.
I’m gonna follow your lead.
Healing and unity begins when our hands are outstretched in service – tired, weary and serving hands.
I’m reminded of Bill Wither’s song, Grandma’s Hands.

I agree. Maybe we do too much talking and not enough doing?
And no, service political campaigns doesn’t count. lol
Amen!
Hey Rachel! Glad to see we’re on the same page. :-)
Well said, Aaron. Glad you are stimulated to write again.
Alice, I’m finding a little bit more time. Thanks so much for your encouragement and support.
It means a lot.
